I was surprised when I heard that the Retreat that many thought will be holding outside the State finally held at Onicha Ugbo, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Delta State Retreat which deserves emulation by other States, has brought to the fore the truth that the era of wasting our resources to sponsor political appointees abroad or outside the State just to receive any forms of training is over in Delta State.
Today, as I followed our beloved Governor to Onicha Ugbo, what I felt can only be best described by a word: awesome.
Indeed,
Gov Ifeanyi Okowa has the actual capacity of taking all appointees to U.S or Abuja for a Retreat but being an experienced leader with wealth of knowledge and financial prudence,he decided to bring all appointees to a place where many people might call a village-Onicha Ugbo in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
I know of many Governors in Nigeria who will enjoy spending millions of naira( despite the economic challenges in Nigeria)to sponsor political appointees outside their States all in the name of Retreat.
I wish to say further that looking at the Retreat today, there is no doubt that at the end of this S.M.A.R.T AGENDA tenure, Delta State will be a State envied by other States.
What more can I say than to appreciate Deltans for voting massively for a man who is currently utilizing the State resources in providing Strategic Wealth Creation Projects and Provision Of Jobs For All Deltans, Meaningful Peace Building Platforms aimed at Political/Social Harmony, Agricultural Reforms and Accelerated Industrialisation, Relevant Health and Education Policies,Transformed Environment through Massive Urban Renewal.
