Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has assured Deltans of his administration's commitment to fulfilling his electioneering promises and called on them to partner with him in achieving prosperity for all.
The Governor explained that his administration was ready to work with Deltans in order to develop the state and improve on the well-being of all.
Speaking to journalist after a closed door meeting with Elders and Leaders of lka ethnic nationality in Asaba, the governor noted that the group was an ambassador of the government since that was his ( governor's) primary constituency and as such would partner with government to develop the state.
According to him " We talked about how to promote unity among all ethnic groups in the state, how to engage our youths and co-operate with government so that we will have a peaceful and united state where development will strive."
Governor Okowa then urged Deltans to be patient with his
" l need lka nation and other ethnic nationality in the state to partner with government to achieve its goal, this is my people and they should be an ambassador of this administration, we will all work together to move this state forward so l ask Deltans to be patient with this administration gradually we will reach our destination of prosperity for all Deltans". He said.
He also called for peace and unity among Christians and Muslims especially as both religions promotes peace and wished the Muslim brethren a happy sallah celebration.
